Hi everyone!

Just thought I’d give a bit of a ramble before I head into the prayer room again.

Recently we here have started into a season of 24/7 prayer, which I am pretty stoked about; although I think it might get interesting, seeing who shows up and who doesn’t for each 1-hour slot. I’ve only signed up for an hour at a time, and have been trying to work my shifts so that those that need more normal hours can do that. I did get to pray for an hour during work today, which was an incredible blessing for me, and definitely helped my day go a lot better!

There is something about coming around to the prayer room at one or two o’clock in the morning that is really refreshing… coming at any time is usually really refreshing… but something about being awake and actively intersecting while tens of millions of people are sleeping around me…. that’s cool. I wish I could do it every night, but obviously I need my sleep.

In seasons like this,  I think of the prophetic prayer and intercession movements throughout history… they all had people who woke up at incredible hours to pray and worship… some who probably only saw a few hours of daylight every day. Friends, it’s an incredible thing, looking back through history, seeing the profound effect that prayer has had not only on people, but on villages, cities, regions, nations, and empires, and even how world-wide movements were born out of the unceasing prayer of a dedicated group of people.

That is why my heart is so drawn to IHOP (International House Of Prayer) and THOP (Tauranga House Of Prayer). They are part of a movement that will see the greatest move of the Holy Spirit within our generation, and I believe they will be the fuel (of course the real fuel is the Holy Spirit) that drives a great revival within this and the next generation. Now they pray and wait… but soon they will be sent, and not just a few… but many. Tens of thousands. What a glorious day that will be!
