Well, here it is, January again!

January 4, 2008 was the day that I arrived here at Reef To Outback, two days after I first arrivedin Australia for the second time. So I have been in Australia for over two years now, minus the three weeks that I spend in Thailand on my outreach. Two years since I left Canada! It's been pretty good, though, I've had some great experiences.

This quarter is nice… a few of my favorite friends have returned to do either further schools or join staff. It's so nice to see them again and hang around, to catch up! I enjoy that for a few weeks and then I'll be heading home to Canada for a month mid-February. It will be nice to get away agian for a while… a longer while this time… as things feel pretty crazy here, right now. I'm hoping to change my role here on base a little bit… of course trying to a bit more with music, as always, but I also expressed my interest and willingness to staff a DTS here at Reef To Outback… something I hadn't done before. We will see how that goes, though.

For so long, I was unwilling to staff a DTS. Honestly, I'm afraid of doing it… afraid of the responsibility of a lot of it, I think… but during a few prayer times God really called me out on my unwillingness to serve in that way. After a bit more prayer and talking to a few different people, I decided to express my willingness to do it. Oddly enough, I think I've actually always wanted to staff a DTS. I love talking about my faith, I love teaching people… the only thing that has stopped me is my fear.

Also, over the last little while, I have had an increasing desire to actually do ministry. Web stuff is… okay, but it is certainly not my utmost passion, it's a few notches down the list. I want to play music, for sure… I can't stop thinking about it, most of the time, but I feel stuck in that area, and so I'm just trusting God and His timing there. I also deeply desire to spend more time ministering to God… in worship, in prayer, studying His Word… these things have become more precious than life to me. With that, as I learn more and spend more time with God, I've found my desire to teach His gospel to people has really increased. I want to go on an outreach! So… I have a few reasons I want to staff a DTS… we'll see what happens, though. I'm hoping it would be in April, right after I arrive back from Canada.

Anyhow, just a bit of an update for you about where I'm at.
